Precut Sewing Kits

Precut Sewing Kits

Welcome to the wonderful world of precut sewing kits!

But wait… what is a precut sewing kit?

Precut kits come with the materials you need for your next sewing project so all you need is a sewing machine and thread!

Maybe you’re a beginner, wondering - what tools do I even need in a sewing kit? Is it absolutely essential for me to get fabric chalk or 30 colors of thread? Maybe you’ve got a kiddo just beginning their sewing journey and you’re searching for fun, budget-friendly options for sewing beginners. Either way, our precut sewing kits are just what you’ve been looking for! Leave all the stress of sewing behind and simply enjoy the process of learning and creating with kits that include the fabric, hardware, and any notions called for in the project.

The potential projects with sewing kits range in difficulty, application, and style so you can find a precut kit for your next project. You might be just starting out and looking for a simple tote - we've got options for adult and kids sizes. Maybe you're looking for a challenge, something with zippers and pockets and piping. You're in the right place: finding the perfect precut kit is as simple as browsing our precut category and feasting your eyes. Whether you want to make a stuffed animal, a handbag, or your next most stylish accessory, we’ve got you.

Who are they for?

From a simple tote to a complex backpack with zippers, pockets, and straps, the choice is yours with options for all types of creatives. You may have a kiddo in your life who loves creating - with our kits they get hours of enjoyment, learning, and confidence from bringing their project to completion. Precut kits are perfect for beginners practicing their hand or machine sewing and anxious to have their first project, or first of its kind, under their belt. Precut kits usually provide everything (always check, especially with stuffed projects!) aside from a sewing machine and thread. Any kits that don't provide everything will note that fact in the description of the product.

What to expect

Many of our kits are made to order, so we get to work on cutting out your pattern pieces after you’ve picked your preferred fabric and submitted your order. Whether you need a stylish carrying case, an adorable accessory, or more storage - do it while practicing your sewing skills with one of our beautiful kits.

Once your kit arrives, you have the pleasure of inspecting each piece and envisioning the project you’ll soon have in hand. You get to feel the materials - smooth and cool metal hardware, soft and fluffy blanket material, or vibrant prints on cotton. Will your project have a name? Where will its home be in your house? Will it sit on your bookshelf, windowsill, or hang in the closet? Will it hold your fresh produce as you meander through the farmer’s market, or provide a stylish solution for storing all of your everyday accessories? Get excited and inspired by browsing our precut sewing kit collection

The customizable options for our projects mean that buying a precut kit doesn’t have to mean sacrificing your style or individual tastes. Some projects, like the Lauren Tote, leave choice of exterior main fabric to you but come with all hardware and zipper tape coordinated for you. Some projects, like our holiday animal pillows, come in different options like reindeer, polar bear, and penguin. Other projects have many color options, like our kids owl purse which lets you choose body color and wing color from several options each!

Why Go Precut?

Our precut kits mean you don’t need to worry about finding, matching, and picking out fabric - which can sometimes get very pricey, and end with you spending two hours your schedule can’t afford in the craft store.

You don’t need to stress over lining the fabric up correctly with the grainline on your pattern, or regret that your cutting lines weren’t perfect. Precut kits mean you just get to experience the excitement of your project coming together and the pride of having crafted something with your very own hands. Or you can give that gift to a loved one and be the reason for their gaining a new skill or adding a furry friend to their shelf.

Precut Possibilities

Smaller kits like our Peekaboo beauty bag or kids headband could be the next fun activity for your little one’s birthday party, letting each guest take home a unique and special party favor. Our beginner kits are great for kids 6 and up. Hands-on projects are a fun and rewarding bonding activity which provide an opportunity to practice hand-eye coordination, learn a new skill, and build confidence. Better bang for your buck than candy favors, I think we can all agree! And since the materials are precut, there’s much less cleanup after the fact - and chaos during.

As the winter holidays approach you may already be turning gift ideas over in your head - our precut kits make it simple. You may want to give the gift of a handmade item, in which case now is a perfect time to pick out a kit and have it sent your way so you've got the time to bring it all together. If you have creatives in your life or someone who would benefit from a handmade craft to focus their attention, the search for their perfect gift is over.

Instructions and Tutorials

Our precut kits bring the sewing class to you. For a kit based off of a Garner Sewing Room pattern like our blank space backpack pattern you can count on a video tutorial to take you step by step through the instructions. Visual demonstrations can be a lifesaver when it comes to figuring out orientation and how your pattern pieces should come together. Set yourself up for success and check out Garner’s Youtube channel for these tutorials and more goodies. Any kits based on third party patterns like the Adam bag won’t have a corresponding tutorial on the Youtube channel.

Where you’ll find the instructions depends on the place you found the pattern. If the pattern is from Garner Sewing Room, instructions will be delivered with your materials by mail, and for patterns with video tutorials you’ll find a QR code linking to the youtube video on the front page of the instructions. If it's from MoreMeKnow, Sewgnar, or another third party - you’ll need to purchase the digital pattern first from them, and then the material kit from our site. Not having to buy fabric, cut pattern pieces, and then cut your fabric will save you immeasurable time and patience.
